Sliders have long held a special place in American cuisine, but their popularity has soared in recent years as bite-sized, flavor-packed versions of classic burgers have become staples at gatherings, parties, and especially holiday get-togethers. Our Appetizing Holiday Sliders recipe taps into this trend—offering a festive and efficient way to serve a crowd without compromising on flavor or flair.
What makes sliders so ideal for the holidays? For one, they are incredibly versatile. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue on Independence Day, a casual Thanksgiving potluck, or a game-day get-together over the winter holidays, sliders are guaranteed to please. Their small size allows guests to try other dishes without feeling overly full, and they accommodate a wide range of appetites, from the health-conscious to the indulgent foodie. Plus, sliders are quick to grill, meaning you can keep a fresh batch rotating onto the table with minimal wait time.
This specific recipe for Appetizing Holiday Sliders goes a step beyond the ordinary by incorporating a blend of bold, aromatic seasonings that elevate the average burger into something truly special. We start with a pound of ground beef, but the magic lies in the blend of flavors that accompany it—soy sauce and teriyaki sauce add a savory umami punch, while cumin, oregano, and garlic infuse the meat with warmth and depth. The addition of dill and savory spices adds an herbaceous complexity that hints at festive, traditional holiday flavors without being overpowering.
An egg is mixed in to help bind the ingredients without drying out the meat, and if you’re using extra lean ground beef, a handful of fresh breadcrumbs ensures a juicy texture. One handy trick in preparing these sliders is flattening the meat into a uniform rectangle—just slightly larger than a standard pack of 12 slider rolls—before dividing it. This method ensures even cooking and minimizes food waste. Cutting the patties before grilling also simplifies the process; the smaller pieces sear quickly, locking in flavor and delivering a juicy, caramelized crust.
Another reason these sliders shine during holiday feasts is their pairing potential. While they’re packed with enough flavor to stand alone, you can easily customize them with toppings like grilled onions, sharp cheddar, pickles, or even cranberry sauce for a festive twist. Placing the cooked patties on soft, slightly sweet King’s Hawaiian rolls rounds out the flavor profile with just the right amount of contrast.
These Appetizing Holiday Sliders aren’t just burgers—they’re conversation starters, crowd-pleasers, and efficient crowd-feeders. They offer all the comfort of a traditional burger but in a manageable size that encourages snacking and mingling—something that’s essential during any festive gathering. Whether you’re grilling outside on a summer holiday or turning up the stove during a winter celebration, sliders bring a comforting yet celebratory vibe to your table.
So next time you’re planning a holiday menu and need something quick, flavorful, and universally loved, let these sliders take center stage. They’re not just a recipe—they’re a strategy for delicious, no-fuss entertaining.

Appetizing Holiday Sliders
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 large egg
½ teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon mustard
2 cloves garlic - well-minced
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon teriyaki sauce- ¼ teaspoon savory
¼ teaspoon dried dill
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper- 12 pack rolls - King's Hawaiian
Instructions
- Mix it all up. If you choose to use extra lean ground beef, you’ll want to add about 2 tablespoons of fresh bread crumbs to the mix. The best method is in a big bowl, digging in with your hands getting them nice and dirty. If you’re afraid of gunk, throwing it all in a gallon Ziplock bag and mashing it through the protective plastic works and keeps you safe from amoebas.
- Mash out (or roll out) the well-mixed beef mixture into a rectangle a little bit larger than the size and shape of that 12-pack of rolls. They will be pretty thin and don’t be surprised if they aren’t as “firm” as the burgers you usually make. Blame the egg for it, but note that they’ll cook up perfectly fine.
- Chop it up into 12 small burgers, and throw it on the grill for about 3 minutes on each side. They don’t take long, and try not to move them until it’s time to flip! With these burgers, you don’t even need any fix-ins, they’ll be nice and juicy and already seasoned, but some grilled onions go nicely with it if you must.
